Chelwood is an ‘open air’ nursery school in the heart of Brockley!
Chelwood focusses on developing confident and independent children who are able to make informed choices and decisions for themselves, whilst developing a caring and considerate and. responsible attitude towards other people and their environment. We believe that the consistency provided by regular sessions and routines, a familiar and consistent peer group and staff team, are significant factors in developing these life skills.

For prospective families
Tours for families applying for a place in September 2026 have now begun. Please email admin@chelwood.lewisham.sch.uk to book one of the following dates:
Tour for children who will be 3 by December 2026:
- Friday, 13th of March at 4pm
- Wednesday, 25th of March at 4pm
Tour for children who will be 2 by Sept 2026:
