We are delighted you are interested in joining the Chelwood Community! Please accept this message as an acknowledgement we have received your application.
Our main point of entry is at the beginning of the academic year (September), with offers made around March/April of the same year. We do occasionally have spaces become available during the year and these places will be offered as they arise.
Below is a summary of the application process and the timeframe for each phase.
General information about applications to Chelwood
We have an application list, not a waiting list
We are a maintained Lewisham nursery school, not a private nursery so our admissions criteria is set by the Local Authority. We are required to offer places in the first instance to:
1. Looked after children
2. Children with medical or social needs
3. Children who have siblings at the school
Once children in the above categories have been offered places, we then offer places based on distance from the school.
Therefore someone who put their application in after you but lives closer to Chelwood may be offered a place before you.
Will you keep my application open/on file even if I’m not offered a place?
Yes, we will keep applications on our system until:
- We can offer you a place
- You withdraw your application
